Hearst, 83, of Benton passed away Tuesday August 8, 2017 at The Martha Coker Green Houses in Yazoo City. Fred Stovall Sligh was born July 15, 1933 in Schlauter, MS to Marvin S. The family moved to Yazoo City where Fred remained until enlisting in the Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; Otto Billie Rowland Browning, Sr., and brother Tommy Browning. A retired contractor, owner of Osborne Grocery, was employed by W. “Red” Hancock Oil Field Construction and a member of Bentonia Baptist Church.
